VIVOSONIC CART
TYYZ
recently branched into medical equipment design and have designed
and are manufacturing a medical cart for the Toronto Firm Vivosonic.
The Vivosonic Integrity Cart is used to conduct audio tests primarily
on newborn babies. Test results can be achieved without sedation
or anesthesia, thanks to Vivosonic's patented digital signal-processing
techniques allowing the testing even while infants are feeding or
screaming to detect neurological disorders. The cart is made from
powder coated metal and stainless steel allowing easy storage and
transportation of the computerized equipment with an adjustable
arm to allow proximity to the patient, in extreme cases even situated
within an incubator.
RECEPTION
DESK WAR MUSEUM
TYYZ
is a company that will design and build a variety of products from
small objects like flashlights or clothing mounted lights that will
assist in rescue operations, furniture, houses and large scale buildings.
The integration of and continuation of a design philosophy in a
building must be continued within the built-in furniture, like the
front reception and ticket desk in the Canadian War Museum. The
hot rolled thick steel panels and the shapes continue the defensive
stance that the building gives in the concrete exterior; at the
back of the counter where the staff is in contact with the desk,
the desk is made from warm wood.

DESIGN
BUILD
Throughout
our work we are always building prototypes of anything we design
and strongly believe that this is the only way towards a successful
design. A tradition coming from the modelmaking process in our architectural
work. Parallel to the two dimensional paper / paperless CAD process
we will always create 3D CAD models and physical prototypes. Our
construction experience has allowed us to design and build houses
for distinguished clients. For those events we team up with Don
Skinner who is the owner of Skinner Design Group Inc.
D HOUSE WINDOW
Building
a house with all its part is an extremely long but satisfying primal
experience of the creation of dwelling. D house was the largest
residential construction we have undertaken, which included a full
commercial sprinkler system, swimming pool, slate and copper roof,
600 m2 of hardwood flooring and veneer plaster throughout all upper
levels of the house. Experiences learned during the actual construction
are allowing us not only to be able to build anything but help us
in comprehending how to assemble things when we are still in the
drawing stage of a project.
