The house is a three-storey building with a two-storey addition in the rear. The interior layout maximizes the use on a typical narrow long Toronto lot and provides a five bedroom house with 3 full washrooms and a well lit basement multi-purpose room. The house is equipped with multiple sustainable features form geothermal heat to grey and rain water recycling. Flat roofs were chosen not only for the modern appearance, but for rain water collection and green roof application. Overhangs and exterior sunshades are part of the passive and active solar control of the building. The house is clad in white fibre concrete and Parklex panels in a rain screen principle. Simple in design, yet full of many custom details from exterior to interior, from mechanical grill design to all glass washroom walls and custom stairs with hinged operable areas to store shoes or children’s toys.
